Faith Formation
The mission of St. John Paul II High School is to act as an extension of the Church by helping families lead their children towards a personal relationship with Jesus Christ through integrated intellectual and spiritual formation in the context of a classical education so that they might choose to become Saints.
Academics
A classical curriculum is chronologically synchronous education -- an education beginning with the first recorded history and following the progression and development of human thought up to the present--which is designed to educate the student holistically.
Beginning with the first written documents of human history and working its way through Western Civilization’s most prominent thinkers, our rigorous curriculum ultimately helps students to engage with the most fundamental questions of humanity.
Community
Nurturing the Spiritual Life
Catholicism is central to our mission. For this reason, every school day begins with Mass. We teach theology out of the Bible, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and papal documents. Other important ways we live the faith include annual pilgrimages and retreats, modest and wholesome extracurricular activities, and sacred art and crucifixes adorn the hall and the classrooms.
House System
Our House System is drawn from a 1,000-year-old tradition of Christian education exemplified at both Oxford and Cambridge. The student houses (named after Saints Gregory the Great, Catherine of Siena, Thomas More, and Joan of Arc) provide real community, a spirit of competition, and both teacher and peer mentorship.
Students engage in house competitions, study hall, and other activities with their House, allowing them to get to know their fellow schoolmates and mentor teachers well throughout their four years.
